Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Minimart collects when you use our mobile point-of-sale app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Effective date: July 3, 2026

1. Who we are

Minimart provides a mobile point-of-sale application for small businesses, available on Google Play. This Privacy Policy applies to the Minimart mobile app, our website at minimartapp.io, and any related services (together, the “Service”).

Minimart is operated by Minimart, based in The Gambia. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@minimartapp.io.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information that’s needed to run your business on Minimart. That includes:

Account information

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and business name when you create an account or invite a staff member.
  • Authentication credentials such as a hashed password or a token from a sign-in provider.

Business data you enter

  • Products, prices, inventory levels, suppliers, sales, expenses, customer records, and staff roles that you add to the app.
  • Receipt content, notes, and any files or images you attach to transactions.

Device and usage information

  • Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate region.
  • Diagnostic information such as crash logs and performance metrics.
  • Basic usage events (for example, “a sale was recorded”) that help us understand which features are useful. We do not collect the contents of your transactions for analytics.

Information from third parties

  • Limited profile information (name, email) if you choose to sign in with a third-party provider such as Google.
  • Purchase and subscription status from Google Play, if you buy any paid feature in the future.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Sync your business data across your devices and staff accounts.
  • Keep your account secure, detect abuse, and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate important service updates.
  • Fix bugs, understand how the app is used, and improve existing features.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your business data to train third-party advertising models.

4. Offline use and syncing

Minimart is designed to work offline. When you’re offline, your sales, inventory changes, and other business activity are stored locally on your device. When your device reconnects to the internet, that data is uploaded to our servers so it stays in sync across your team.

If you uninstall the app before syncing, any locally-stored data that hasn’t been uploaded may be lost.

5. How we share information

We share information only in the limited situations described below:

  • With your team. Staff you invite to your business can see business data based on the role you assign them.
  • With service providers. We use trusted vendors for hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, and email delivery. These providers are only allowed to use your information to provide services to us and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Minimart, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. If Minimart is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We’ll notify you beforehand.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information and business data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we’ll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we’re required to keep it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Diagnostic logs and analytics events are typically retained for a shorter period and stored separately from your business data.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage on our servers, and access controls that limit who on our team can access customer data.

No system is perfectly secure. You’re responsible for keeping your device, password, and staff invitations safe. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@minimartapp.io.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your account and associated personal information.
  • Export a copy of your business data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, email us at support@minimartapp.io and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children's privacy

Minimart is intended for people 18 years or older who are running or working in a business. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll notify you through the app or by email and update the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of Minimart after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact us

Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your data can be sent to support@minimartapp.io.
